Wonderful points of view; very helpful both for anchoring myself and for being there for my children. Thank you so much for these.
Thank you for this, I do feel its beneficial as a mom of 2 boys I do feel the anxiety…and now have to work from home; feeling how can I do my work with everyone home with me constantly asking me for something; Dr Laura suggestion to give ourselve some time to see that yes this is possible; just need to change few things around but we will manage this together…
I’m with you on this Nor. I have noticed my two daughters can keep themselves busy, however my son, seems to need more guidance. For Monday, I’m going to make sure each kid (I have three including a teenager) has their own workspace in their room. We’ll come up with schedules for each so there’s variety, down time, reading time, physical activity, time for chores, etc, using a timer to change it up. (Like they do in school.) The sooner we can help kids develop their spaces, routines, expectations, and what can be done for fun at home….the better it will be for all of us. I think we might be in this for awhile. For parents who need to work-I think having a schedule, and a list of things to do, and offering incentives for things completed on that list, would be a good place to start.
Your a light a star I love love your awesome idea in the shower I was just waiting to see what Dr Shefali would say. I love it. I’m centred and calm but I needed this for a reminder. Dr Markham for letting us know what to say to our kids. Thank you for being here for us and being the voice for us mums and anxious kids. stay safe and calm everyone with love xx
